About PRI
Priyanthi Alahendra is an educational consultant and coach, an experienced Lower School Director, and an early elementary school educator dedicated to working with children and adults in the service of growing a compassionate community of learners. With over 26 years of experience in four independent schools, she demonstrates curricular leadership, a deep understanding of professional growth and development, innovative teaching, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. She served in various leadership roles, from redesigning and coordinating the teacher training programs at Princeton Day School and Marin Country Day School to leading the Lower School at The Bush School. She believes in fostering partnerships by developing strong relationships with students, their families, and teachers. As a South Asian immigrant, Priyanthi understands the importance of supporting communities of color: students, families, teachers, and leaders. She knows that when students feel seen, heard, and known, they will thrive in their environment. She strives to approach her work with an open heart and open mind by embracing multiple viewpoints and listening actively to all constituencies. Priyanthi is the founder of PRI Educational Consulting. She earned her B.A. from Skidmore College and her M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and is currently consulting with schools, raising two almost adult children, and training an energetic puppy.
